Lending Tech Infra Support AVP

As a Barclays DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for technical analysis, design, development coordination and end user interactions. You will have extensive knowledge in server and database administration, with opportunities to work in other technologies. You will play a leading role in a strategic project to deliver a market leading initiative and migration of current ACBS platform to LIQ.

What will you be doing?
• Contributing towards planning of implementation activities including data migration where appropriate
• Investigating and resolving defects that may be raised
• Supporting and enhancement activities across Wholesale Lending
• Release automation by building development CI/CD pipelines for zero-touch deployments
• Driving deliveries assigned through an agile project methodology
• Identifying repetitive/time consuming processes independently which can be automated, esp. where they benefit multiple business areas for Infrastructure setup

What we're looking for:
• Excellent understanding of compute, middleware, network, storage, virtualization and DevOps concepts
• Experience implementing cloud, aPaaS, IAC, IaaS solutions
• Solid grasp of automation tools(Teamcity, Jenkins, Nolio, Chef, Cloud formation)
• Good experience in writing Java, PowerShell Scripts, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Skills that will help you in the role
• Good understanding of Openshift aPaas V3/AWS cloud environments
• Hands on experience on Java/C#, SQL and Shell/Python/groovy Scripting
• Experience and have knowledge on Devops tools like Teamcity/Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Sonar, Veracode and Nexus
• Worked on infrastructure, cyber and data evergreen projects

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
