Team Overview

The Accounting Services and Oversight (ASO) - Institutional team are responsible for the production of NAV and Performance for institutional separate accounts on a daily and monthly basis using Aladdin Accounting. This includes analysis/comparison with third parties such as custodian banks and accounting agents.

ASO have a view across the entire Aladdin platform, working closely with key internal stakeholders to ensure NAV accuracy. This leads to natural exposure to several teams including but are not limited to portfolio managers, performance attribution specialists, trade operations, cash & assets reconciliations, client management and APG.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct portfolio valuations, performance calculation and analysis for Institutional portfolios using the Aladdin Accounting platform.
  • Work closely with upstream teams such as Cash reconciliation, Trade operations, Data Integrity Group and Portfolio Managers to ensure data accuracy.
  • Support Portfolio Management Group (PMG) and Institutional Client Business group (ICB) in resolving portfolio valuation queries.
  • Work with clients effectively by supporting Client Business in servicing client requirements on a regular basis or on special projects.
  • Onboard new portfolios onto the Aladdin Accounting platform.
  • Enhance the client experience by answering NAV or Performance related queries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review reconciliations with custodian banks and accounting agents to prevent/resolve NAV/Performance discrepancies.
  • Prepare, review and provide ad-hoc reports to clients or custodian/accounting agents as necessary.
  • Involved in the training process of newly hired professionals and interns
  • Work with the product owners on the development of the Aladdin Accounting platform through enhancement functionality/development testing and identifying areas for development.
  • Self-managing tasks and keeping the team and managers updated on any issues, delays or errors.
  • Assist in conducting and implementing procedures and controls to ensure GIPS, SOX, RCSA and SOR Audit requirements.


Skills Required
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, including the ability to confidently articulate with clients (external) and partners (external, internal).
  • An individual that takes ownership and accountability of tasks/processes.
  • A working knowledge of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives), strong accounting knowledge and familiarity with performance calculations
  • Understanding of the NAV reconciliation process and experience with leading stakeholders engagements
  • Delivers excellent client experience & service
  • Experience of owning a process including effective issue resolution
  • Exhibit/demonstrate strong decision-making skills to make well-thought-out decisions based on the information provided and to obtain further assistance/clarification when necessary
  • 4-6 years of experience in financial industry


Preferred:
  • Experience in a team lead role
  • Project management experience
