Group Financial Accountant

Join Close Brothers Group Finance Team where you will assist with financial control and reporting for the group and ownership of the consolidation process, as well as budgeting, forecasting and tax work for the parent cost base. This is a key role in providing wide ranging support to the Board and senior management with their financial responsibilities. In addition, being a part of Group Finance, this role is also often involved in a variety of ad hoc analyses and project work.

Month end and financial control procedures

• Complete month end procedures for the plc cost base and group consolidation
• Day-to-day cash administration and cash flow/liquidity reporting
• Ownership of internal controls, procedures and documentation, as well as compliance with the Group Financial Control Framework

Annual and half year reporting

• Help prepare and deliver high quality annual and half year reports
• Take ownership of certain disclosure notes in the financial statements
• Act as key point of contact for the external audit team

Financial planning and analysis

• Prepare forecasts and annual budgets for the plc cost base

People

• Review work prepared by the Finance Graduate and Group Financial Accountant where appropriate

Risk and compliance

• Ensure that all governance and compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by regulation are carried out to the standards required

Developing Our People: as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

• Strong track record of delivering effective reporting under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Strong IFRS financial accounting and consolidation knowledge
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Work well within teams and proven ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders
• ACA or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:

• Experience FRS 102
• Experience of SAP
