PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports end-to-end revenue accounting processes and completes research required to transform data into information for reporting purposes. Completes moderately complex activities, including processing general ledger revenue events and transactions, reviewing data or preparing financial statements, management reporting. or regulatory reporting; assisting with continuous improvement activities such as the identification and analysis of exceptions; providing support for audits; completing assignments to support the maintenance of the control environment; fulfilling ad hoc requests in accordance with global, regional, and country-specific accounting, reporting, and process standards; and completing process improvements. May deliver recommendations for use in accounting and financial reporting to management and internal Boards of Directors. May complete special project activities, as assigned.
  • With little guidance, gathers, reconciles, and analyzes data to complete journal entries, performs reconciliations of general ledger accounts, prepares daily reports, and supports analyses. Ensures accounting across the firm's legal entities and branches is accurate.
  • Activities are performed accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. Reviews and/or approves journal entries and/or reconciliations completed by less experienced professionals. Identifies and escalates issues, as needed. Provides insight and potential ways to resolve the issue, may lead resolution efforts.
  • Interprets moderately complex fees schedules and prepares client effective rate and other analyses which provide reporting insights for use in oversight, process improvements or other management reporting or analyses. Collaborates with the T. Rowe Price Group and subsidiary financial reporting teams on various analyses related to revenues earned by the Group, individual subsidiary or branch offices.
  • Leads the implementation of financial system modifications to comply with revised reporting, accounting, and accounting process policies, procedures, and more substantial regulatory changes.
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting risks, patterns, or recurring issues and working with all necessary stakeholders and technical teams to reach a resolution.
  • Participates in assignments across lines of business, legal entities, and geographies that have an impact on internal and external reporting, accounting, and accounting processes as a revenue accounting subject matter expert. Assignments include contributing to the implementation of new or revised reporting, accounting, and accounting process policies, procedures, and reporting templates in order to provide effective financial planning, accounting, and reporting of financial information for the Group, its subsidiaries or branches. Provides accounting guidance to relevant stakeholders.


PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or related field and 5+ years of total relevant work experience
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices and their application to a variety of areas
  • Analytical skills and sound judgment; consultative skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Works well independently and in a team environment; comfortable in a matrixed environment; ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team in setting objectives, coordinating workflow, and overseeing team performance and career development
  • High levels of personal and professional integrity
  • Intellectual curiosity and an ability to interact with senior stakeholders across a multitude of topics


Preferred:
  • Chartered Accountant or pursing a MBA, or CIMA Certification
  • Experience with General Ledger and Subledger Systems, particularly Oracle Fusion Cloud
  • Experience in fund accounting or related reporting for any of the global TRP proprietary products, client accounts or related systems
  • Additional language abilities would be advantageous
