Accountant (Group Finance) - International Private Equity

My client is a leading international private equity and investment advisory firm with more than $100 billion in assets under management and more than 20 offices globally.

This business manages funds on behalf of pension funds, financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds and other investors.

The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to join the 8-person Group Finance team in London and would report into the Finance Manager.

The Group Finance function is responsible for the consolidation of group financial information, and the preparation of KPI and other performance reporting to senior management within the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for various entities within the group
  • Dealing with auditors where relevant, and presentation of accounts to the Board of Directors for approval
  • Preparation of financial information for various business segments and Group boards
  • Oversight and analysis of accounting data prepared by outsourced administrators and internal finance teams
  • Preparation of budgets and ongoing monitoring of performance compared to budget
  • Support in the preparation of segmental financial forecasts and projections
  • Drive improvement of processes and controls in the financial reporting process
  • Support the Group Head of Finance in other project work as and when projects arise
  • Ad hoc duties and projects may also arise from time to time, and as the role and business develops

Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified ACA or ACCA
  • Excellent academic track record
  • Accounting experience coming from a Big 4/larger mid-tier practice background OR someone already working in a similar role at a financial services firm
  • Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Ability to define, agree and implement effective processes
  • Highly numerate and analytical with good attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, organised, strong prioritisation skills and able to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Able to work collaboratively and is pro-active
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


*This role is an office-based role as the business like to have people at this newly or recently qualified level in the office to learn and develop alongside the senior members of the team.
