Operations is one of the largest divisions in the Firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying, and mitigating operational risks, developing strong client relationships, and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT solutions. Team Profile:

International Tax Utility (ITU) helps senior management and its individual business units manage the Firm's Tax risk by owning and driving forward the Operational Tax Control framework. ITU has a dedicated Change the Bank team (part of the global Tax Fleet) which is responsible for management of large-scale Business Driven programs and also an integral part of driving ITU's multi-year technology transformation program across Tax Onboarding, Tax Exception Documentation and Management, Withholding, internal and external Reporting and data and payment submission to the tax authorities across some 80 jurisdictions. The team collaborates with stakeholders in Operations, Technology and the Business to analyze, define and deliver technology supporting the Operational processes utilizing Agile discipline as part of a larger, global Tax Fleet.

Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will take ownership of a programme of new business initiatives, regulatory / infrastructure change, and strategic process innovations from a Tax operations perspective to start with working on two global program related to Morgan Stanley European entities. The candidate will ensure that the Tax workstream delivery in on track and challenges and risk identified escalated and handled in a timely manner by bringing together stakeholders across Operations, Corporate Tax, Technology, and wider business units.

Skills desired
  • 5-7 years of experience in program/ project management, process engineering or strategy within a financial services environment.
  • General knowledge of Business and Tax operational processes and Tax specific Regulations in Financial services (in depth technical expertise is a significant plus but not mandatory)
  • Expertise in working with full project lifecycle across Waterfall and Agile project methodology, including but not limited to:
  • Drive identification of requirements across products and jurisdictions through stakeholder interviews and evaluation of data
  • Partner with other stakeholder teams across business units (i.e., tax operations, financing operation, asset servicing, legal, compliance) to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with the project manager and executive teams
  • Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems and process requirements on a continuing basis, and maintain systems processes, including the delivery of monthly status reports to all appropriate parties
  • Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation
  • Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimized systems integration, and respond to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations
  • oversight of user testing -both to formulate an approach as well as oversight of the testing effort
  • Stakeholder Management: can discuss requests, priorities and requirements with stakeholders and keep them informed of progress
  • Strong Leadership skills and experience leading multiple projects; have the ability to bring people together to drive initiatives forward
  • Ability to identify complex risks early and develop actionable mitigation plans
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills


Skills desired
  • Prior experience in international tax program delivery
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications, including Visio
  • Proven capabilities in project and user-testing management
  • Proven development of innovative and impactful systems solutions
  • Extensive experience with data visualization
