Job Summary
A strong communications practitioner who will consult and work closely with the Employer Brand team in HR, other HR colleagues and Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing (CABM) teams to support delivery of Employer Brand "always on" content as well as targeted Employer Brand campaigns and other internal and external communications in support of the Bank's people agenda,

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted partner for the Employer Brand team and consult on associated external communications as well as opportunities to align internal communications.
  • Build network across the Employer Brand team and Group, Regional, Country and Business CABM teams to coordinate CABM involvement in Group and targeted Employer Brand campaigns to facilitate partnership and engagement and speed up execution time.
  • Develop a broader network across the Bank to help source stories for content development for web and social channels. Work in partnership with Employer Brand, agencies, CABM teams (including Story Lab where appropriate), Employee Resource Groups and colleagues to create and curate a mix of content.
  • Help feed Employer Brand content to CABM partners supporting Group MT members and other senior leaders to leverage reach of our Standard Chartered thought leaders in channels such as LinkedIn
  • Work across the HR & Culture communications team to support the development and delivery of internal and external communications campaigns using existing and new communications channels in the form of:
    • Source and develop stories to create and deliver content, in partnership with the content creation and digital channels teams, communications employees that promote the people, culture and leadership agenda
    • Identify and repurpose existing content, aligning quality, for use in employer brand communications
    • Help support social media planning, content and measurement for Group Head of HR in line with the Bank's people agenda and EVP
    • Preparation of briefing documents, communications plans, and other presentation decks and materials
    • Audio call / video conference / virtual event support
    • Metrics, measurement and feedback - use data and insights to make recommendations to improve how we position and deliver our content through various channels
  • Ensure that tone and messaging of HR communications are aligned with the corporate narrative
  • Stay abreast of internal and external communications trends and act as a catalyst within the team to try new approaches to message cut through and engagement
Processes
Accountable to risk control owners and/or Group policy owners for the implementation of policies and control standards set by them, ensuring compliance, and operating within risk tolerance and risk appetite and building a culture of good conduct.

  • Collaborate with other CABM teams to execute successful communications strategies
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
Risk Management
  • Identify, report and escalate issues, risks, business intelligence to leadership
  • Set appropriate tone and expectations from the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners
Other Responsibilities
  • Serve on HR & Culture Communications, People & Culture Communications and CABM working groups and committees as needed. Member of the Internal Communications Community of Practice to share priorities and communications initiatives from Group that Business, Function, Region and Market communicators need to know about, making specific asks for support and activations where needed.
  • Take on special assignments to support CABM and People & Culture Communications priorities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience of advising clients on how to effectively communicate, considering risks, opportunities, and the greater context of the company's strategy
  • Experience contributing to and delivering strategic plans in support of a business objective/agenda.
  • Experience of working for global organisations across geographies and cultures to set and deliver proactive communications strategies
  • The ability to think through desired outcomes of communications strategies and tactics and measure and adjust approach as required
  • A curious and creative mindset and comfortable with analysing data/data visualisation
  • Experience in copywriting and/or creating and developing content to support or enhance a strategy/narrative, including strong storytelling skills
  • Understanding of internal and external content strategies and communications channels, including solid experience and success using social media channels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in corporate communications, PR and/or journalism
  • Ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, including senior management and third-party vendors, across multiple locations
