The Role:

M&G plc is a FTSE 100 company created in October 2019 when the business demerged from Prudential Plc. As a result of the past and ongoing shift towards business as usual practices, an opportunity has arisen to join the Group Reporting team in Edinburgh.

M&G plc is required to report its consolidated IFRS financial statements to the market twice a year as well quarterly Management information and regulatory Group Solvency 2 reporting. This role will play a key part in contributing to the process that underpin the overall preparation and delivery of the Group's financial reporting.

In addition, there are substantial change projects currently in progress across the business which will have a notable impact on the Group Reporting team and their processes. This aspect will also be an important component of the role.

It is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic accountant to support the ongoing evolution of the M&G plc Group Reporting team as the business continues to grow and gain stature as a standalone company.

  • To support the implementation of new accounting standards
  • Actively contribute to the delivery of other finance change projects that impact the Group reporting process
  • To support the delivery of initiatives required as part of the demerger project to ensure Group reporting processes meet all reporting and control requirements of a newly listed plc
  • To maintain effective working relationships with other teams in MGP Finance ensuring that Group reporting needs are communicated, understood and met
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customer outcomes and a reduction in M&G Prudential's operational risk
