Investment Risk Manager

I am working with the specialist asset management arm of a larger global financial services organisation, who have a broad and deep expertise across all major asset classes. This client is seeking an Investment Risk Manager within Macro Strategies to start a permanent role.

The Role

My client is seeking an Investment Risk manager to sit on the Second Line Global Investment Risk team, with a primary focus of driving the company's independent risk management, measurement, and security analytics processes across the companies Macro Fund strategie

The Duties

The duties of this role include:

• Managing the risk of multiple strategy funds in the macro business area while serving as a challenging independent partner for the investment team.
• Consult with portfolio managers on a regular basis, giving them advice on risk taking and risk positioning while involving them in portfolio creation concepts targeted at enhancing investing processes.
• Make sure pricing and risk models are accurate, making improvements where necessary, and work closely with the head of investment risk to establish risk budgets and limits for funds.
• Improve risk reports through automated processes.
• Inform the team's leader and the global director of investment risk of any risk issues or concerns.

The Ideal Candidate

My client is seeking an Investment Risk professional/Market Risk professional with 3+ years of risk management experience within either an Asset Manager or Investment Bank. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of risk models, including Historical VaR and regression analysis, with a strong understanding of derivatives (including Greeks). Knowledge of Multiple asset classes and additional experience using Python, R, and VBA would be beneficial. Above all else, you would be an ideal candidate with highly effective communication skills, allowing for the development of working relationships with other investment teams.
