The day to day role will include - but not be limited to:
  • Conduct in‐depth, robust and thorough analysis of new investment transaction proposals as received from the various investment departments: hedge funds, equity & debt funds, private equity funds, infrastructure funds, RMBS and also direct principal investments with a focus on credit risk related issues.
  • Assess distressed debt, leveraged loans and corporate debt investments by analysing the company's financial statements, the capital structure, the competitive positioning, industry trends, the value creation and advise the CRO and investment departments on the associated credit risk.
  • Manage the process for assigned transactionsfrom submission to issuance of the final report by liaising with the various investment departments and DDC Chairman on any potential findings.
  • Independently write the DDC report for assigned transactions and discuss findings within the Investment Diligence team and with the DDC Chairman.
  • Analyse and propose solutions to the investment departments to mitigate the identified risks in investments.
  • Advise the investment departments on the DDC process and provide guidance on the key process steps and timelines (submission requirements, Due Diligence Questionnaire, site visit report, DDC report, time lines, interactions).
  • Assist and advise investment and support departments on risk management matters.
  • Act as key point of contact for selected investment departments; represent the risk unit in the weekly team meetings, when possible, of the respective departments.
  • Advise investment departments on general risk matters such as policies and procedures.
  • Advise investment departments on investment specific issues such as structuring of loan transactions, and relative value analysis of tranches in structured credit investments such as CDO (collateralized debt obligation), CLO (collateralized loan obligation) and MBS (mortgage‐backed securities), and leveraged loan portfolios.
  • Assist the custody and cash management units on all counterparty risk and credit risk matters including participation in negotiations of ISDA and CSA agreements with financial institutions.
  • Undertake on‐site and desktop reviews of new transacting broker counterparties.
  • Participate in the training and coaching of more junior team members.
  • Carry out other similar or related duties as assigned by line manager.
