Portfolio Analyst, Investments Team, Private Equity Fund

We are currently working with a tier one private equity fund. They are one of the biggest names in European private equity investing.

They are now looking to recruit a Portfolio Analyst to their team.

Key Responsibilities
  • •Undertaking financial analysis to monitor performance of the assets within the funds
  • Monitoring portfolios' exposures in different geographies, sectors and types of instruments
  • •Supporting fund leverage facilities' monitoring and negotiation
  • Undertaking deployment and pipeline analysis to assess the impact on portfolio construction
  • Running fund models and scenario analysis to support portfolio decisions and for internal and investor discussions
  • Quarterly reporting tasks (e.g.ESMA reporting, Solvency II reporting and bespoke investor reporting)
  • Responding to ad hoc requests for information from the investor relations team
  • Providing information to the fund finance team to support the quarterly investor reporting
  • Managing and maintaining the information held within portfolio monitoring systems; ensuring rigorous validation of the data
  • Creating fund relevant reports/ analyses using PowerBI/ Tableau for internal and external use cases
  • Preparing ad hoc presentations in PowerPoint Desired Experience

Background sought
  • A strong academic background, ACA/ CFA/ CIMA an advantage but not a prerequisite
  • 3 years relevant work experience within financial services, ideally within accounting/ investment management/ investment banking sector or within a blue chip organisation/ top tier boutique firm
  • Strong financial modelling and financial analysis skills, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills, fluent written and spoken English

The role could be a great opportunity for a chartered accountant looking to move out of practice, or a junior product controller/ finance professional (with the ACA) looking to move to a more analytical role with a private equity fund.
