Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Salisbury

Opportunity Overview : Resource Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join Evelyn Partners, a leading integrated wealth management and professional services group. The business strives for their values and look after their clients' combined wealth and tax needs, personal and business.

Role Objective: Preparation of the annual financial accounts within the timeframe agreed with the client or required by statute. Also, if required, accurate processing of clients' financial data and the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and undertaking the preparation of VAT returns and other VAT compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare annual financial statements including statutory accounts, partnership accounts, sole trader accounts and trust accounts for tax purposes
  • Manage portfolio of clients
  • Visit client premises to undertake on-site accounting needs as required
  • On occasion prepare and input client transactions into computerised ledger system if required
  • On occasion preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts for clients if required
  • On occasion prepare monthly/quarterly/annual VAT returns from financial information supplied by client if required
  • Preparing Intrastat and ECC sales lists for clients
  • On occasion completion of other VAT services including registration, de-registrations, options to tax etc as required


Requirements:
  • Strong academic history
  • Studying towards ACCA/ACA with AAT qualification or evidence of suitable work experience
  • Prior experience of computerised accounting packages including cloud based software
  • Ability to work independently but as part of a wider team
  • Results orientated to meet and exceed client expectations, with a key focus on delivering high quality work that consistently meets internal and/or external client deadlines
  • Understanding of new accounting standards
  • Accuracy - to ensure transactions treated correctly
  • Judgement - be able to assess a situation and reach a suitable conclusion based on the information available or effectively communicate with a manager where unsure
  • Planning and organisation - needed throughout the process to ensure deadlines are met and client portfolios are managed
  • Customer focus - develop relationships and gain confidence of client. Ability to deal with client queries and emails on a timely basis, and have flexibility to work on-site at client's premises
  • Use of IT - be able to work on bookkeeping packages, accounts production software and Excel
  • Teamwork - working with colleagues in the team
  • Flexibility - to assist with other ad hoc services that arise from time to time
  • Innovative - using technology to create efficiencies in processes
  • Technical knowledge - awareness of FRS102 and FRS 102 1a
