Director/Principal - Investments - Fund of funds - Venture Capital - Tech (blockchain)

Our client is an Anchoring Venture Capital Investment firm based in London, dedicated to Fund of Fund Cornerstone investments in funds in blockchain-related technology, Web 3.0, and Metaverse. With Web 3.0 and Metaverse gaining further traction to become the new normal, the current fund of funds provides risk-managed exposure to this rapidly growing asset class through a diversified portfolio focused on early -stage investments in Web 3.0, Metaverse and NFT technology/companies.
They are now looking to add a Director/ Principal (VP might be considered with the right experience) of Investments to their growing team.
The role:
As a Principal Investment Director, you will be working directly with and supporting the CIO of the fund. This is a senior role, and your main responsibilities will include validating the investment opportunities proposed by the rest of the team, reviewing/discussing them with the CIO, and presenting your findings to the entire Investment Committee.
The opportunity to grow within this role and become a partner in the firm within short timeframe is a strong possibility.
• You will be a key member of the principal investment team, focusing on a broad range of activities to identify new blockchain and crypto-asset opportunities.
• Conduct sourcing, investment research, due diligence, and analysis of potential investments and develop investment recommendations.
• Financial analysis and modelling of potential investments, and lead the due diligence process for potential investments from start to finish.
• Work with the researchers and analysts to verify the best opportunities.
• Develop deep understanding and working knowledge of blockchain and crypto-assets to support research analysis on NFTs and other crypto-assets
• Stay up-to-date on development within the industry.
• Provide forward-looking views with a high degree of transparency to the Senior Leadership Team and other stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years' working experience in investments, of which a minimum of 5 years is working experience in Private Equity, Principal Investments, Investment Banking or VC firm ideally covering tech (Crypto, web 3.0 etc would be a strong bonus) but not including Real Assets.
• Strong understanding of crypto-asset and NFT market dynamics is highly advantageous.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong analytic, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong analytical orientation.
• Practical experience with blockchain and crypto-assets.
• Must have strong intellectual curiosity, an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for digital assets and financial markets.
