We welcome students with any undergraduate degree and from any background to join our Technology Graduate Programme, located in Sheffield. This programme is open to current or recent university graduates who are curious about how technology powers the world, and possess a willingness to learn. We'll teach you everything you need to know while you work.
Join our open and collaborative team on our two-year programme and take on some of the world's biggest financial and data challenges while building systems that support millions of customers worldwide.
For: Final year undergraduate students or recent graduates
Duration: Two years

Start date: August 2023 onwards

Sheffield
Requirements: You will be currently studying or will have graduated in an Undergraduate Degree between 2021 to 2023. We are unable to consider postgraduates (including Msc, MBA, PhD and other postgraduates). You will have achieved or will be on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:2 or above Degree classification or equivalent. You are located near Sheffield or within commuting distance to Sheffield. Be fluent in English. Be legally permitted to work in the UK. Please note that you can only make one application to the Programme within a period of 6 months.

To be eligible to apply for this programme, you must be in receipt of, or have applied for, your UK Post Study Work (PSW) / Graduate visa prior to starting the programme. HSBC will not cover any costs associated with this visa.
Successful applicants are responsible for securing the visa before the start date of the programme. If you already have a Graduate visa, then you must have at least 18 months remaining on it at the start of the programme.
What you'll do
During the programme you'll apply your skills and learn new ones in your role, which could range from being a full stack engineer or API engineer to a data analyst or solutions analyst, or even a scrum master or technology architect.

You're an innovative and logical thinker who can see the big picture, possessing the confidence to explore new concepts and ideas. You like solving problems by building and designing; and enjoy learning by doing. You thrive on tackling complex challenges in a structured and analytical way; and using data and logic to find solutions.
Where this could lead
You will become either a Technical Specialist in your designated area or a Technology Generalist who can work across the entire technology landscape. Both Technology Specialists and Generalists help drive innovation throughout HSBC.
