The Role:

SVB UK's EMEA Life Sciences and Healthcare practice has rapidly grown in recent years and to support this growth we are looking for an experienced Relationship Manager to join the team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the most innovative companies in Europe who are playing a key role in improving healthcare outcomes globally.

The role is focused on building deep relationships with the founders, CEOs and CFOs in the UK and Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring, orchestrating, and growing entire Life Sciences and Healthcare client and ecosystem relationships, with a particular focus on the Biopharma, Healthtech, Medical Devices and Diagnostics markets; the key responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to deepen relationships within the C-Suite both across our existing client base and prospects; consulting on, and cross-selling, SVB UK's platform to address client business needs; orchestrating cross-functional teams to optimize the client experience; and building real relationships to differentiate SVB UK with all key influencers in the market. Core responsibilities include origination and new business development as well as managing and developing existing relationships.

Reporting to the EMEA Market Manager for Life Sciences and Healthcare, the successful candidate will build effective internal networks with multiple teams across the bank. The candidate will work alongside the Relationship Advisors, Product Advisors, Debt Execution Team and internal operations to provide a streamlined banking experience for the client.

This individual will likely have the following background/attributes:

Strong, proven origination skills to build a high-quality client portfolio.
Preference for candidates with experience of working with Life Sciences and Healthcare companies operating within the venture capital backed/ start-up ecosystem.
Passionate about healthcare and technology with strong sector knowledge.
Strong finance, analysis and commercial lending experience, including the ability to understand and negotiate credit terms.
Excellent all-round knowledge of Commercial banking products.
Authentic relationship building skills and very self-motivated and success driven.
An entrepreneurial and collaborative approach.
A consistent track record of delivering results.

LOCATION

Based in London and covering the Life Sciences and Healthcare ecosystems in the UK and Europe. The role will involve some international travel for conferences and events.
