Title: Group Treasury Analyst

Role Overview:
The Group Treasury Department is building and refocusing its capabilities to manage the financial risks of the Group following the completion of its corporate reorganisation and re-domiciliation.

Group Treasury develops and administers policy for all the treasury matters, centralises and manages financial risk, and manages the liquidity for the Group. The department is also responsible for the management and administration of internal structural and short-term funding. Group Treasury develops and implements the Group's external financing programme, including the Group's GBP2bn EMTN Programme, the Group's bond portfolio and its revolving credit facilities.

The Group Treasury team performs various functions, including analysis of financial risks, cash management, cash flow forecasting and the execution of debt, investment and FX transactions. In addition, the team is responsible for implementation and management of the group's global (and regional) insurances. This includes analysis of insurable risk requirements against risk appetite and development of the most efficient insurance financing options. The treasury analyst will be a key player in support the team in achieving these goals through the responsibilities and duties set out below.

The role will include a combination of core treasury duties such as cash, debt and system management, alongside working on treasury projects and change engagements (e.g. the implementation of the Treasury Management System).
This role is a key bridge between Corporate functions and regional functional teams, assisting with the consolidation and interpretation of data, the application of Group policies, process improvements and enhanced understanding of financial risks within the Group.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a critical mindset and a track record for delivering improvements. They will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability interact professionally with a wide range of key stakeholders across the firm. They will be enthusiastic and keen to develop both themselves and those around them.

Role Responsibilities:

The key pillars of the role include:

1. Debt and Cash Management.

Assisting with the development of Cash Management and Credit Concentration Risk reporting

Responsible for:
  • Cash reporting systems and processes, presently managed within Bottomline.
  • The review and assessment of cash balances against Regulatory, Liquidity, Business and Credit thresholds
  • Investigation of issues with regional Treasury teams
  • Monitoring operational liquidity demand
  • The maintenance of the Treasury reporting including cash reporting and the intercompany loan portfolio.
  • The execution of external and internal FX, cash, investments and hedging transactions
  • The management and recording of intercompany loans and facilities
  • The management of bank accounts, including reviews of purpose, mandates and statistics
  • Execution of corporate cash flows and support management of the group's debt portfolio.
  • Liaising with Group Finance accountants regarding accounting treatment of Treasury transactions and the entry of corresponding journals.
2. Treasury Projects.

Responsible for supporting the Treasury Management System (TMS) Implementation including:
  • Supporting the implementation of the TMS across the group
  • Delivering key TMS workstreams and managing both internal and external stakeholders to tight timelines
Treasury transformation:
  • Supporting the treasury function as it undergoes a process of transformation, focusing on continual development of treasury processes, outputs and systems
  • Performing analysis and implementing best practice solutions for the Treasury department and our key stakeholders
Data management & Reporting:
  • Managing our treasury systems infrastructure
  • Supporting and improving Group Treasury reporting that supports improved senior decision making
  • Managing the bank account onboarding process and the collection and maintenance of treasury data
Ad Hoc Treasury Project work

3. Insurance

Assisting with:
  • Underwriting and claims data gathering
  • Policy document administration and distribution
  • Validating premium calculations and tracking via broker's portal
  • Captive premium accounting
4. Risk Management Processes
  • Administration of Risk Controls and recording Risk Events
  • Oversight of production of relevant Risk Management Metrics
Experience / Competences:

Knowledge & Experience
  • Experience of working within a corporate treasury function
  • Experience of persuading collaboratively and diplomatically with other functional teams
  • Ability to work across regions and cultures in a global business
  • Experience of recording and reporting on corporate treasury transactions
  • Ability to work comfortably in an environment with tight deadlines
  • A broad understanding of financial markets and financial securities (specific financial services experience is not essential
Skills & Education
  • Degree level educated or equivalent
  • Well-developed IT skills: MS Office (particularly excel), some exposure to Alteryx, PowerBI or equivalent useful
  • Excellent communication skills (written reports and presentations) essential
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - proven ability to apply these skills to complex financial information
  • Good attention to detail and highly organised with a proactive approach
  • Hands-on with a passion to learn and deliver improvements
  • This role will be encouraged to work towards a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACT, CIMA or similar) and will be supported in doing so. Existing Qualifications or part Qualifications an advantage
