Slippage Model Controller (Central Trading)

The Team

Man Central Trading (CT) is responsible for trade execution across a wide range of asset classes covering the global needs of all investment managers within Man group. A core responsibility of the team is to measure and disseminate execution costs data across the business, which feeds processes such as market impact modelling, investment management insight, best-execution oversight, sales, regulatory reporting, and client reporting. This role will report directly into the Director of Trading and will be responsible for the accuracy of these numbers.

We are looking for a Slippage Model Controller whose responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the accuracy and relevance of slippage numbers and key execution stats
• Building the processes for review, escalation and sign-off of slippage and key stats
• Internal slippage reconciliation: working closely with the Cost & Charges team, Compliance, and Investment Engines (IMs)
• Tracking Transaction Cost (TC) model usage and consistency across IMs and Asset Classes
• Ownership of the slippage outlier review process, including the treatment/re-instatement of outliers, as well as visibility to stakeholders
• Ensuring new market on-boarding is adequately factored for across the different trading disciplines, e.g. trading systems, analytics, downstream regulatory reporting processes
• Periodic estimating non-captured flows

Technology and Business Skills

Essential

• Attention to detail and ability to navigate complexity
• Ability to carry out independent assessment and verification
• Ability to work effectively with a wider group of people towards resolution
• Quantitative, with a good grasp of mathematics, statistics, and data processing
• Experience designing, implementing and running processes focused on data accuracy and completeness

Advantageous

• 4+ years as a financial controller or product controller
• Understanding of financial products
• Understanding of the trading function
• Experience with high-level programming language, such as Python
