Bloomberg News is seeking an FX/rates reporter in London to join its talented team of journalists.
The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment -- quickly spotting and breaking news -- and adeptly unpick the inner workings of some of the world's biggest markets in real-time.
You'll get a chance to report on bond traders testing the resolve of central banks and wagering on the survival of governments, explain how years of loose monetary policy have distorted markets, and grapple with the plight of the sterling and euro -- in short, some of the biggest issues keeping investors up at night.
We're looking for a self-starter and team player who can connect the dots and break down complicated ideas in a way that is useful both for a sophisticated audience and accessible to general readers.
Above all, you'll need to be fast, accurate and have a passion for markets and journalism.

- Develop and tap a broad network of traders, investors, government officials and policy makers for insights and scoops
- Generate ideas and craft stories that not only capture what's happening and why, but what it means
- Master the Bloomberg terminal to tell visually appealing stories and break news using data
- Collaborate with teams and reporters across the newsroom
- Think creatively about reaching new audiences for our coverage through Bloomberg's multimedia platforms and magazines
YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE:
- Very strong writing skills and a knack for distilling complex subjects into easily-digestible prose
- Knowledge of markets, along with a strong willingness to learn on the job
- A strong news sense and ability to quickly identify actionable, market-relevant information
- Knowledge of Bloomberg functions are desirable
