Operations- Deal Execution,Private Equity, West End London location, Financial Services Industry:

I am looking for an experienced Operations, Fund Administration and Execution control professional to join a boutique business in London's West End. The role will suit someone who has Private Equity experience and had worked in a small team previously so they are fully conversant with full deal execution support.

The business is an independent, private, owner-managed partnership firm that was founded 25 years ago that invests in private and public equities.
The investment strategy is sustainable investing for the long term. By integrating sustainability issues with traditional analysis, the business seeks to deliver superior investment returns.
The business has built a global research platform to integrate sustainability research into fundamental analysis. It focuses on key drivers of global change, including climate change and environmental degradation; macroeconomics, poverty and development; water and natural resource scarcity; pandemics and healthcare; and demographics, migration and urbanization. These global challenges pose risks and opportunities that can materially affect a company's ability to sustain profitability and deliver returns. The Organization's research plays an important role in forming its views on the quality of the business, the quality of management and valuation.

Description

The Control Team consists of 12 team members, 11 based in London and 1 in USA. The Control Team is split between team members supporting the Public Equity investment strategies and the Private Equity investment strategies. The new hire will be supporting the Private Equity investment strategies, based in London and reporting to the Head of the Control Team.

The Control Team's key objective is to provide and maintain a controlled environment for the investment management process. In executing its responsibilities the Control Team works closely with the Investment Team, Traders, Client Team, Risk Team and Legal and Compliance Team. The Control Team also works with a broad range of external service providers, including overseeing the outsourced operations functions that would traditionally be performed in-house.

Key Responsibilities

Providing operational support to the Private Equity businesses - Growth Equity and Long-term Equity:

  • Supporting the operational aspects of the deal execution process.
  • Liaising with Fund Directors to coordinate the approval of transactions and other compliance requirements.
  • Overseeing fund administrators and custodians to ensure that they reflecting all activity across the funds in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Overseeing the quarterly Fund Accounting process to ensure funds are valued accurately and allocated correctly across Limited Partners.
  • Oversight of the production of periodic Limited Partner reporting deliverables.
  • Overseeing Limited Partner capital activity - calls, distributions and transfers.
  • Assisting in the quarterly portfolio companies' valuation review process.
  • Oversight of the annual financial statements audits.
  • Supporting the Client and Investment Teams by providing financial performance data for portfolio analytics, pitch books, RFPs/DDQs and client requests.
  • Assisting in the operational aspects of fund launches and in the onboarding process for new Limited Partners.
  • Covering client service responsibilities across Generation's global client
  • Assisting in team and firm wide projects required to maintain and develop the business infrastructure and processes.


Profile

Operations- Deal Execution,Private Equity, Financial Services Industry:
  • Work experience in operational roles within investment management
  • Background in/exposure to private equity
  • Fund administration and accounting and performance calculations.
  • Demonstrable broad understanding of the operational processes within financial services industry
  • Good knowledge of the compliance and regulatory requirements within the investment management industry.
