Join Close Brothers FP&A Team where you will support the Bank FP&A Senior Analyst and team in the preparation of financial information including running month end processes such as 'Flash' reporting and board reports, preparing detailed pieces of analysis (monthly and ad-hoc) and supporting the monthly cost and headcount reports. Presentations and analysis produced are predominately for the Bank leadership team and help them make informed decisions.

The role will work closely with divisional Finance teams and will play a key part in the success of Bank FP&A deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Monthly Business Performance & Reporting
  • Support the month end 'Flash' process detailing the expected month end close position to the Bank Executive committee
  • Prepare monthly reporting packs outlining key financial performance metrics for delivery to the Bank Executive committee

Cost and Headcount Analysis & Reporting
  • Support the monthly process of analysing costs and headcount drivers, including challenging submissions and putting together presentations which draw out key messages
  • Work closely with business areas to understand business impacts on costs, and effectively communicate results to senior stakeholders

Analysis
  • Support the FP&A Senior Analyst with ad-hoc analysis on topical issues including coordinating any data gathering from the business units
  • Refine and improve existing processes and challenge outputs to create relevant and value-adding analysis
  • Gain an understanding of each of the businesses within the Banking division and demonstrate an understanding when pulling together 'deep-dive' analysis

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team player committed to ensuring that the overall team objectives are met
  • Beginner with MS Office packages including Excel
  • Willingness to challenge and interpret data
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Studying towards an accounting qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
  • Solid relevant accounting experience and technical knowledge, gained from studies in relevant degree
