We have an exciting new opportunity for a Project Manager to Join Resource Solutions as a Workforce Consultant. As an Employed Workforce Consultant, you will benefit from permanent employment with Resource Solutions and will be deployed on an interim or project basis into our clients' organisations, in return we will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills with ongoing training and professional accreditations.

Job purpose:

Manage and contribute to the delivery of all IT components of IT projects & Programmes in order to meet business objectives.

Identify solutions to maximise reuse, value and effectiveness of applications within the context of the AXA Group.

To ensure that DSDM Atern best practices are being used and demonstrated across projects.

Key accountabilities:

Delivery Management

Responsibility for UK-IT project or workstreams within a programme, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, to scope.

Applies and champions the appropriate project management discipline, i.e. planning, resourcing, scheduling, monitoring, reporting and risk, issue and dependency management.

Establishes an effective project organisation structure.

Responsible for the development and management of budget and expenditure within projects.

Manages and contributes to the selection of supplier delivery relations for technical partners, software vendors and contract agencies.

Responsible for overall project planning & management of resources required (including well developed contingency plans) to deliver the agreed solutions.

Leads research into solutions evaluation & design to ensure delivered solution is efficient, cost -effective and meets the Group's architectural standards.

Change & Configuration Management responsibility

Responsibility for managing external relationships with clients, stakeholders and key customers to ensure delivery meets requirements

Plan and coordinate deploy and release activities (technical tasks should be identified and implemented by team lead/change management)

People Management

Responsible for project team shaping, building, management, development and motivation, including recruitment.

Matrix management with responsibility for permanent and contractual staff

In addition to personal development is responsible for mentoring or training colleagues.

Contributes to and assists in identifying and delivering people development initiatives

Contributes to high level section resource planning and sourcing strategy.

Role model for Project Management discipline and key driver of best practice

Quality Management

Responsible for setting and managing the quality of deliverables for projects.

Responsible for ensuring all testing is carried out and reviewed and approved between appropriate parties, including the business users.

Ensure the delivered technical solution meets the requirements of the quality framework standards and strategy.

Ensure the delivered project meets the needs of the business as specified in the original requirements and that the agreed quality standards have been met.

Responsible for reviewing & approving the quality of project deliverables.

Responsible for ensuring that the delivered project is maintainable met and handed over with appropriate documentation.

Communication

Responsible for reporting and presenting on project status to the project team, Steering Committee, stakeholders and senior management

Planning facilitated sessions for any aspect of the project including problem resolution, design, analysis and planning.

Responsible for creating and adhering to the project communications plan, ensuring it is targeted appropriately to the stakeholder and project audience

Delivery Management

Allocated project delivered on time, on budget, on spec

Accurate financial tracking and reporting, including understanding of budgets, actuals, committed spend and forecast

Timebox and increment planning for business and IT tasks (with the assistance of the BA and team members)

Solution proposal agreed as part of solutions governance process

All interaction with other support teams (eg. Release Management, Change Management, Infrastructure etc) should be managed as early as possible

Quality Management

All project deliverables are fit for purpose and key deliverables are signed off

Test cases and plans approved

Any experiences from previous releases are reviewed and acted on

Facilitate a retrospective and capture in TFS for future releases

Manage the hand over with any required documentation to the weekly support team about system changes

Demonstration of controls and compliance across the full lifecycle of the project

RAID logs are managed and escalated

Skills, Experience & Knowledge

Previous experience with proven track record of delivery in large projects / Programmes

Accredited at Project Management discipline (practitioner level) (e.g. DSDM Atern, Certified project Manager, APMP, Prince2 practitioner, ISEB )

Expert in Project management Disciplines

Experience of budget management

Proven decision making ability

Ability to manage and develop people effectively

Excellent communication skills

Experience of influencing senior management population

Awareness of market trends in Insurance & the IT industry

Expert understanding of end to end IT solutions and the IT delivery lifecycle

Proven experience of managing relationships with 3rd parties
