Context for the Role:

We're looking for a talented Financial Accountant to play a key role within M&G's wealth platform - IFDL's Finance team. Joining on a 12-month fixed term basis, you will need to show a strong aptitude for month end close, business partnering and have demonstrable experience in budgeting and forecasting.

We are looking for candidates who can be based primarily out of our offices in either Bath or London, but with a blended approach to home-based working.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the month end process, including the analysis of accruals and prepayment schedules, preparation and posting of journals, variance analysis as well as pulling together commentary for Management acc's.
  • Production and circulation of Monthly/Quarterly Reporting (Dashboard's, KRI data and Finance Risk Dashboard).
  • Provide business partnering support across the Business, providing critical challenge where necessary and facilitating their business objectives.
  • Review and approval of Purchase Order requisitions.
  • Assist with Quarterly/ Annual forecast and budget processes for the wealth platform business including AuA Flows and Revenue updates, analysis, commentary and MI for Board packs.
  • Assist and manage system changes in EPM during the forecasting and budgeting process
  • Manage and arrange monthly Pricing Committee meetings, ensuring minutes and action logs are captured and distributed.
  • Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Able to liaise effectively with people at all levels and build strong relationships across the business.
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a good track record of process improvement. Able to question and understand complex financial data and demonstrate experience in presenting analysis in a succinct manner and appropriate format.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated and strong learning ability. Able to complete work independently with attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Oracle Fusion and EPM experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • ACA/ ACCA / CIMA with 1-2 years PQE
