Our hybrid work model
BlackRock's hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week; some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities. Beginning in September, all employees will shift to at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Job Title: Vice President - Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Key responsibilities of role
- Responsible, in conjunction with the Regional Head of DEI, for researching, benchmarking, developing and delivering on the regional DEI strategy which is aligned globally and supports business outcomes
- Partner with the Country Heads, local Diversity steering committees and Country HRBPs to deliver country specific DEI action plans
- Act as strategic advisor and DEI lead for employee networks, ensuring we recognise, develop and partner with our networks to enhance the local DEI Strategy and employee experience
- Ensure we are making sustainable progress and driving accountability through owning and leading data tracking, analytics, measurement and DEI scorecard reporting
- Create innovative DEI content and interventions to attract, retain and develop under-represented talent
- Distill insights from data analytics and share findings with partners to bring about change
- Capture local/business best practices, sharing and scaling with broader DEI stakeholders
- Project management of ad hoc DEI deliverables for the region
- Build excellent relationships with key stakeholders such as the Global DEI team, DEI champions, HR peers, Legal and Business leaders to align, improve design and deliver DEI best practices throughout the firm.
- Provide ongoing consultancy to our HR Business Partners to design, develop and execute on business and location specific DEI plans
- Maintain a high level of expertise in best practices in DEI across each country within the region, with a deep understanding of the local nuances and challenges
- Proactively represent the region so these local nuances are understood by global partners, to ensure global and regional communications and action plans are inclusive and compliant
- Cultivate a network of highly knowledgeable advisors among practitioners and experts in the field.
- Remain abreast of current research, activities and trends in the field to ensure we are ahead of industry wide and Regional developments
- Become a trusted advisor to key partners so they proactively reach out to seek guidance and feedback on DEI related activity/challenges
- Maintain sound judgement when employees reach out to discuss and seek advice on sensitive situations
- Expertly represent the Firm in external forums, developing strong relationships with external partners
- Recognised as a key partner by the Client facing teams, and when required, attend Client meetings.
Key requirements for role
- Proven experience of strategic agility, developing a regional strategy which is globally aligned and is tailored to address local nuances and challenges
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical rigor, using data insights to bring about change
- Outstanding collaborator who consistently demonstrates an ability to effectively partner and influence without authority and across a matrixed organization
- Very strong communicator who is experienced in tailoring key messages depending on the audience, and is focused on engaging key stakeholders effectively and in a timely manner across a matrixed organization
- Exceptional Program Management experience: ability to design and deliver programs for a wide audience, ideally demonstrating experience in organizational behaviour change
- Evidence of managing multiple projects concurrently, with competing deadlines, and an ability to escalate any challenges quickly and efficiently
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
