Citi is looking to hire an experienced Technical Project Manager in London. This is a Vice President role within the Financial Risk Technology, XVA team so we expect the candidate to step into a leadership role and be comfortable managing complex multi-year cross-asset projects. Using an Agile methodology of working and JIRA Technical Project Manager will partner with the developers based in London, Mississauga, Shanghai and Pune. The ideal candidate will have a mixture of strong project management skills and a working knowledge of the associated technology solutions. The focus for this role will be to deliver projects leveraging existing and new architecture solutions of the cross-asset XVA space. The expectation is that the Technical Project Manager will be engaged in run-the-bank and change-the-bank projects like enabling and supporting daily CVA PnL and PnL explain calculations, FRTB SA-CVA and BA-CVA, Wrong Way Risk calculations, migration of XVA software stack to the new cloud-based platform, regulatory commitments like CCAR and EBA runs with the key focus on defining strategic product solutions across 8 global Agile teams. The role requires building strong relationships with the clients which XVA desk, Risk Managers, Product Control, Finance, RWA team and Quant Analysts and defining project plans, identify and manage risks, working closely with engineering teams to define solutions and be engaged into the execution cycle.

This role will provide a unique opportunity to gain hands on direct exposure to all of the components within XVA technology space working closely with the business and technology users as they face any new challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as lead project manager for delivery of key business and regulatory projects under Citi's cross-asset XVA technology strategy
  • Managing the subcomponent projects of larger risk initiatives to completion
  • Managing new cross-asset risk projects from start to finish
  • Collaborate with product owners and scrum masters of agile teams to create and maintain detail project plans with high level views on milestones
  • Coordinate on dependencies and facilitate discussion across asset class technology teams and quant teams to resolve outstanding risk and issues
  • Producing presentations and reports for senior management and regulators alike on progress on key programs
  • Work closely with program level directors and managers to provide status and feedback on projects
  • Attending workshops, working groups and other relevant meetings with senior representatives from Risk, Finance, Ops & Technology, Front Office, Internal Audit and other groups
  • Working closely with the technology leaders and also the business-aligned risk team leads / PMs to define, agree, track and report on commitments and deliveries
  • E2E Accountability on delivery from initiation to post deployment for relevant projects
  • Appropriately assessing risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Essential Experience/Skills
  • Experiences in a financial services firm in a role of Project Manager, Programme Manager, Product Manager
  • Experience of working under an Agile approach and responsible for setting up Jira
  • Ideally have managed complex risk and/or CVA technology projects for a major Investment Bank
  • Solid grounding in risk (any asset class), preferably including around OTC derivatives is preferred. Understanding Front Office data like trade, positions, netting sets, market data and role of quantitave libraries and models on front office risk calculation is preferred.
  • A working knowledge in various technologies (e.g., Python, MongoDB, Java, Restful API, cloud-based services). Hands on experience of working directly with development teams. Hands on knowledge of Python, MongoDB queries is preferred. Aptitude to understand technology system flow architectures and engage IT partners for designing solution on business and regulatory projects
  • Experience of delivering on projects in geographically diverse teams to effectively progress on cross asset and cross function projects
  • Understanding of regulations enabling of basic understanding and review of business requirement and functional requirement documents
  • Identifying key gaps in project plan and dependencies and ability to organize/facilitate conversation leading to an acceptable conclusion
  • Understanding business impact through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes and industry. Distilling complex information and present in concise terms to enable senior decision making and direction.
  • Working with junior project managers and product owners on detailed IT work plans, schedule
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience coordinating with technology teams
  • Educational Level: Bachelor's Degree required.
