Key Responsibilities
- Steer the group's overall capital position in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, providing key insights and future predictions to stakeholders, including the Prudential Regulation Authority.
- Administer the capital forecast model, delivering comprehensive capital metrics to senior stakeholders such as the Global Asset and Liability Committee, Board Risk Committee, Group Risk Committee, and the Board.
- Monitor and report capital ratios (including Common Equity Tier 1, Leverage, and Double Leverage) against regulatory requirements, internal risk appetite, and peer benchmarks, providing astute commentary on implications, recommendations, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead and manage the monthly submission of Capital to the Prudential Regulation Authority.
- Establish internal Large Exposure limits based on the forecast capital position and ensure Risk and business teams are fully informed of any changes.
- Collaborate with the Group Regulatory Reporting team to ensure accurate capital sections in the Pillar 3 and Annual and Interim reports.
- Aid the Investor Relations team with understanding capital movements and crafting market messaging.
- Act as a subject matter expert and consultant on capital-related matters for the Group contributing to the analysis and communication of the impacts of regulatory changes and related market developments.
- Drive and develop capital subject matter expertise on digital asset ventures.
- Work synergistically with internal stakeholders including Senior Management, Business, Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Risk, Regional Treasurers, and Stress Testing teams to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to capital planning.
- Assist with the enhancement of the Group's capital forecasting capabilities, involving capital resources, Risk-Weighted Assets, and scenario modelling capabilities.
- Contribute to capital optimization initiatives and preparation for regulatory changes such as Basel 3.1.
- Promote efficiency by identifying opportunities to improve ways of working, leading by example, and setting appropriate culture and values.
- Comply with the Group's Risk Management Framework including the Operational Risk Framework for Capital Risk, demonstrating a clear understanding of the Capital Requirements Regulation, Prudential Regulation Authority rulebook, and other relevant capital regulations.
- Collaborate with all members of the Treasury Capital Forecasting team to achieve outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles and deal with regulators in a responsive, open, timely, and cooperative manner.
- A Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or Risk Management
- A solid background in the Financial Services industry, especially in Group Treasury, Capital Management, and Risk Weighted Asset calculations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint and the technical ability to manage and understand complex Excel models.
- Ability to construct messages suitable for senior stakeholders, decipher and communicate complex regulatory text, and have the analytical ability to simplify large amounts of data into concise messaging for senior management.
- Strong stakeholder and project management skills, the ability to work in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines, and the capability to coordinate with diverse teams across functions are also crucial.
