Role Overview:
The Data Governance Senior Manager accomplishes results through the effective oversight of professional team(s) and department(s) across the Institutional Clients Groups (ICG). The team will govern the activities of Markets, Wholesale Loans & Credit, Securities Services, Trade and Transaction Services, Commercial Banking & Capital Markets Advisory.

The Data Governance Senior Manager Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area to ensure compliance through credible challenge with the new Operating Routines, Policy & Procedures, Data Risk Appetite, and Change Management activities bought about by the Enterprise Data Transformation Program.

The Data Governance Senior Manager will have knowledge of all aspects of Data Management including Data Lineage, Modelling and Data Quality. They will have experience in running senior level meetings at regular intervals to demonstrate compliance; the output of the meetings will be used as evidence to Internal Audit and Regulators of Citi Compliance to Data Policy. The candidate will have knowledge of Issue and Risk Management Procedures and routines. The Data Governance Sr Manager requires basic commercial awareness and an understanding of Investment Banking is preferred.

The successful candidate will have Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas where there is not a direct management relationship. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of a Business area within ICG. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. The role may involve management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.

Responsibilities:
  • Management of data governance programs, principles, policy, practices and standards including industry best practices.
  • Establishing a governance process to oversee implementation activities and ensure ongoing alignment to the defined architecture
  • Drive progress for continued development of enterprise-wide guiding principles, policies, processes and practices.
  • Measuring Policy adherence and remedial action associated with Policy adherence.
  • Manage relationships with business and Global Functions leaders efforts to drive data quality agenda progress.
  • Prepare materials for Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs), Portfolio Reviews, Horizontal meetings, Town Halls and Staff Meetings
  • Perform analysis of DQ issues and deliver metrics reporting
  • Support Managers with status reports and presentation content. Guide data analysis and reporting processes that include collection from multiple sources, validation of data and assembly and presentation of required data.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
