Your new role:

Joining a team of two in our London office, you will work alongside our investment tax specialists in a broad tax compliance and governance seat.

Collaborating with the broader Fund Services departments, such as legal, operations etc, you will take on tax compliance and reporting matters for the direct unlisted portfolio in the UK and European, including;
  • Designing, implementing and co-ordinating end-to-end whole of life-cycle tax compliance,
  • Provide advice and support to direct investments, SPVs and the UK entity.
  • Work with both the global tax team internally, and external tax advisors & investment managers
  • Work with key senior stakeholders on relevant tax matters, with a value-add approach.
  • Responsible for A-Z tax needs, including documenting, reporting and filings for all investments and SPV activity.
  • Present, communicate, and escalate tax positions where and when needed.
  • Assist on direct transactions and investments projects across the Fund.
  • Identify, mitigate, manage and report on all tax risks across the Group.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax reporting for our single legal entities & UK Boards where required.


This role is based on site at London King's Cross Estate, one of the core assets of the Fund's global portfolio.

What you'll need

Culture is key at AustralianSuper, and we are looking for someone who is a team player that enjoys working in a high performing collaborative team.
  • Extensive experience within UK corporation tax & Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs)
  • Exposure within or working closely with Investment Funds/Asset Management firms.
  • Relevant qualifications such as ACCA/ACA or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel
  • Track record of direct tax exposure across European jurisdictions
  • Motivated and passionate tax specialist
  • A team-player with excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to adapt and change in a growing office.
