Job Profile Summary:

Man Group's Financial Crime Team provides global, firm-wide oversight of all financial-crime related matters. This role sits within the Financial Crime team and is responsible for supporting all key initiatives relating to our investment engines and their processes.

The role is intentionally broad and offers exposure to all Financial Crime topics, including anti-money laundering, sanctions, bribery, and corruption on a global level. The work is diverse and includes due diligence, investigations, research, screening alert disposition, report writing, policy & procedure writing and ad hoc project work.

Responsibilities:
  • Risk-based due diligence on prospective and existing deals, transactions, and counterparties to assess financial crime risk
  • Supporting the Financial Crime Sanctions programme, including the assessment and response to economic sanctions announcements and management of the automation of firm-wide restrictions
  • Management of other Financial Crime programmes and oversight of banned weapons, cannabis and crypto investing
  • Acting as an advisor and first point of contact with the investment business
  • Participating in the design and roll-out of new technologies for the Financial Crime team
  • Preparation of draft policies, procedures, board reports, and other senior management reporting
  • Filing regulatory reporting when required
  • Research, analysis and assessment of new asset classes for relevant financial crime considerations and supporting in the development of new operating models to support the business
  • Seek to actively improve processes and put forward suggestions for process efficiency in the business

Key Skills & Experience:
  • Strong academic achievement and background
  • Proven experience in a financial crime compliance, investigation, research, due diligence or legal role required
  • Working knowledge of Financial Sanctions regimes (OFAC, UK, UN and EU)
  • Understanding of and experience in the asset management industry preferred, with particular focus on understanding deals and transactions
  • Previous experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work in a busy environment with tight deadlines and high standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and comfortable using data to drive understanding of financial crime risks
  • Comfortable operating at all levels within the Firm and wider industry groups
  • Well organised with a strong attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, and self-starting
