This is an exciting opportunity to join as a Manager within Group Corporate Development. the role will involve a combination of M&A and strategy across the Banking division, Asset Management and Winterflood Securities. This is a high profile role, working closely with members of the Group Executive Committee to support the delivery of our key strategic priority of maintaining disciplined growth throughout the economic cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Full end to end deal oversight and advisory across acquisitions and disposals, including initial appraisal and valuation modelling, preparation of offer letters, managing due diligence, negotiating key transaction documents, impact on key financial metrics, preparing deal assessment papers for Board / ExCo approval
  • Opportunity to act as transaction lead on smaller deals
  • Maintaining strong relationships with our network of external advisers and DD providers to ensure we are aware of all impending deal processes
  • Help to coordinate the annual Group Board Strategy meeting. This may involve strategic analysis on key focus areas, strategic reviews of our diversified portfolio of businesses and collaborating with external management consultancies to address discrete strategic questions
  • Help the businesses in the group to deliver "disciplined growth" by ensuring new growth opportunities are well researched, critically appraised against our distinctive business model, and effectively executed. Can often evolve into an M&A process.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and insight on disruptive new trend

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
  • Proven M&A experience (either lead advisory, due diligence or another in-house Corp Dev role)
  • Advanced analytical skills and a questioning mind
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel modelling skills (including DCF valuation)
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Confidence and maturity to work alongside senior members of the Group

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
  • Financial services industry experience
  • Interest in FinTech and disruptive business models
  • Interest in Sustainability/ESG
