Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and has significant impact across the lifecycle of a Trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a Client relationship group dedicated to overseeing the group service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first class experience when doing business with Citi.

Our Digitization and Implementation group works alongside our Operations teams delivering automation solutions to solve for operational challenges. We partner with Citi's innovation labs to drive optimization and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model.

Our Technology groups develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations, Change, Design and Implementation groups in providing innovative products and solutions. Job Purpose :
This role is within ICG Markets Operations. The role is within the Asset Servicing group, this is a great opportunity to join a high performing & welcoming team within the Markets Operations division. Asset Servicing is represented Globally across the NAM, EMEA and APAC regions. The Asset Servicing department is an integral part of the ICG O&T division and has responsibility for processing Corporate Actions and Income events for Firms and client's positions. It is one of the highest risk areas within operations. The unit provides client-orientated support to both the front and middle offices and utilises all processes of the other areas of operations. The department supports, Prime Brokerage, Stock lending, Firm trading desks, Stock Lending, Repo, SWAPS for both Equity and Fixed Income.

The Asset Servicing Analyst 1 is an entry level role. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding department, where you will learn all about Asset Servicing products. A role in Asset Servicing provides opportunities to interact with multiple other departments in Market Ops such as middle office, stock lending and settlements. This role in Event management specifically deals with the creation of Global Corporate Actions and Income Processing events. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of the Asset Servicing world and work closely all teams within the department. The successful applicant will be given support and training to develop their knowledge in order to fulfill the role. The role will include making evaluative judgements based on facts presented to them in our Event management systems, and successful candidates will also be required to resolve problems using their acquired knowledge they receive via their newly acquired experience.

Responsibilities:
  • This role will manage scrubbing and validating corporate action events
  • Play an instrumental role in ensuring the Corporate Action Event Management Team meets its targets in validating and enriching announcement details for Mandatory, Choice and Voluntary events
  • Interpret Corporate action events and market types and ensure complete and accurate information is provided for notifications and downstream processing to clients
  • Understand and adhere to Restricted List and Sanction processes
  • Pursue companies and agents for missing Corporate Action information
  • Supports a range of products/ services and projects in accordance with established systems and procedures, under general supervision
  • Responsible for routine operational tasks focused on administering defined procedures, analyses and report preparation, and resolving problems that require investigation or research
  • Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies to identify process improvements and support the implementation of projects
  • Interprets data and contributes to recommendations for process improvement, and/or the launch of new products/ services and upgraded platforms
  • Minimizes risk to the bank through knowledge of procedural requirements - understands and monitors errors to suggest solutions to reduce errors, and to adhere to audit and control policies
  • Identifies policy gaps and makes suggestions to support the streamlining of related work processes
  • Timely escalation of all requests / inquiries / issues / errors
  • Develops a good understanding of products and processes, and industry practices and standards
  • Applies a good knowledge of a wide range of specialized administrative/technical skills to monitor, analyze and/or evaluate processes and data; most of the impact is related to the accuracy of tasks performed, and the quality and timeliness of tasks that affect own team and closely related teams
  • Applies a good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the wider team/working group
  • Utilizes good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders, and to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access- is desired)
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with working in a team environment, challenging the status quo and driving own performance
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
