Job Description

The role
Checkout.com is seeking a seasoned product designer who will take on a strategic role in driving design excellence and quality for Checkout.com's dashboard products.
You'll build customer understanding and craft experiences to simplify payment operations, provide transparency and guidance to unlock new revenue opportunities and protect the financial health for the businesses.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Product Design within the Merchant Experience pillar, you should be skilled in leading the creative process and a strong collaborator with product and engineering leadership counterparts. You should also be an effective communicator by presenting work effectively with the right medium and fidelity, from creating concepts to actual designs across a diverse audience.

How you'll make an impact
  • Lead design vision, strategy and execution within a large product area within merchant experience at Checkout.com
  • Drive collaboration across the product organisation to facilitate building end-to-end experiences for our merchants and customers
  • Set the bar for design excellence with high quality execution
  • Explores and defines new patterns or standards that later become adopted by others
  • Translates design language into complex user journeys across merchant journey and leverage our brand identity within product surfaces
  • Identifies and helps to resolve challenges across design and cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to building a collaborative, passionate and inclusive culture within design team through thought leadership and mentoring
  • Leads and participates in initiatives across the Design function and contributes to Checkout's recruitment programs
  • Shape Checkout.com's and the design team's culture, through collaboration, feedback, and proactive participation on key programs and initiatives
Qualifications

What we're looking for
  • Proven track record and experience in design strategy and execution
  • Practical experience with interaction and visual design in agile product development environment with ability to build cross-functional partnerships
  • Experience delivering high quality design solutions for a variety of enterprise or consumer applications that drive meaningful business outcomes
  • Excellent design chops, sets a high bar in quality and design craft in the organisation
  • Strong ability to approach design challenges systematically and with long-term thinking
  • Thoughtful, impact-focused and intentional in design decisions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including distilling findings into insights to engage and inspire various stakeholders
  • Excellent cross-functional and cross-organisational relationship-building skills, with the ability to drive organisational change around design quality
  • Experience developing strategic initiatives, opportunity analysis, and negotiating business trade-offs within the scope of your work
  • Growth mindset, adaptability and ability to navigate ambiguity or change
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently on leading teams and programs
