This role sits within Pyrford International. Pyrford International is an investment boutique that operates independently within Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Pyrford is a provider of global asset management services for collective investment funds, investment management companies, local and state bodies, pension schemes, endowments and foundations. The company has been operating from its London, UK base since 1987. The investment approach is rooted in capital preservation through a clear focus on quality and value. Pyrford invests across global equity and bond markets on behalf of clients.

Job Purpose Statement

Where you'll fit in & what our team goals are....

In this role you will sit along side the investment team reporting directly into the ESG Forum Chair. You will support the implementation of the firm's ESG approach and follow all regulatory requirements. You will be the subject matter authority for ESG enquiries. You will also get involved in developing best practices and recommending future ESG improvements consistent with company core investment strategy and client expectations. You will collaborate closely with our CEO, ESG Forum Chair, Chief Compliance Officer and officers at our parent company.

Role Responsibilities

How you'll spend your time ....
  • First point of contact for ESG matters relating to Equity and Multi-Asset strategies.
  • UNPRI annual verification submission.
  • UK Stewardship Code annual submission.
  • Compiling and editing annual ESG report.
  • Monitoring of company progress to Net Zero Asset Managers Initiative targets.
  • Preparation of company TCFD reporting.
  • Identification of and planning for future ESG regulation.
  • Monitoring of internal review of ESG company ratings.
  • Ongoing review of specialist ESG research and data providers.
  • Preparation of slides and marketing materials explaining ESG approach for client, consultant and prospect meetings. Participation in those meetings.
  • Completion of ESG-related components of RFP documents (in partnership with RFP Manager) and client/consultant questionnaires (in partnership with Client Service team.)
  • Working with Operations team on the future inclusion of climate related data in monthly client reporting.
  • Arrangement, documentation preparation and minute taking for quarterly ESG Forum meeting.


Key Capabilities

To be successful in this role you will have ....
  • Direct experience of ESG-focussed work at an FCA-regulated firm or pension fund.
  • Inquisitive attitude, outcome-oriented approach, attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills to support engagement with clients.
  • Ability to work co-operatively with other teams and functions.
