Legal and General Capital are recruiting a new opportunity as a Structuring Director to lead on LGC structuring projects to develop, facilitate and execute investment solutions for LGC's broad client base (LGAS SHF, LGR, LGIM managed funds, other). Including having a good level of understanding of the client's investment objectives and constraints, including the regulatory environment in which they operate. This applies to both new and existing assets and the on-going management of existing structures to ensure they remain relevant and effective, with a particular focus on commercial real estate and clean energy assets.

The role holder will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the L&G Group.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the development and execution of investment solutions for LGC's broad client base including having a good level of understanding of the client's investment objectives and constraints.
  • Present potential structuring solutions to senior management/ Board level.
  • Take the lead and responsibility for pricing, execution and documentation of complex transactions. Be accountable for the end to end process of developing and implementing asset solutions for the various LGC client mandates, including assessing the impact on capital and matching adjustment position (LGR only), internal model treatment, and determining relative value.
  • Foster strong relationships with the various LGC businesses/ investment teams, LGR, LGIM to embed the solutions capability into the investment process for new and existing assets.
  • Interface with different parts of the organisation and across disciplines (investments, tax, accounting, legal and regulatory) to develop asset solutions that meet the client's investment needs.
  • To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group's policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance.
  • Operate at all times within the risk tolerances as per the Risk and Capital Mandate set by the business to ensure appropriate controls for the Group and ensure that the principles of conduct risk are embedded in day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times.
  • Provide leadership ensuring that effective people, processes, systems and controls are in place, and that functions are integrated effectively, to ensure that the LGAS SHF Traded Asset portfolio adheres with Legal & General's Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policy.

What we're looking for

  • Degree level education ideally in a quantitative discipline or equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Good knowledge of the alternative assets in which the business invests and have the ability to develop a good understanding of new asset classes as and when relevant
  • Proven track record of developing and executing investment solution ideas
  • Experience of operating in a commercial environment
  • Highly organised with the ability to influence a wide number of stakeholders and colleagues from a wide number of disciplines and backgrounds
  • Strong quantitative background (securitisation/structured finance/structuring)
  • Solid understanding of credit and rating risks and markets, securitisation or structured finance
  • Experience of leading and developing a team of professionals
  • Ability to manage and influence both internal and external stakeholders at a senior level
