Legal and General Capital have a new opportunity for a Ratings Advisor to join the team. In this role you will be responsible for facilitating asset and debt origination backing LGAS medium to long term Strategic Asset Allocation objectives and PRT business. This involves providing ratings and capital structure advisory to the new asset origination team and assist in shaping and developing our internal ratings criteria for the sectors of particular interest.

What you'll be doing
  • Conducting fundamental credit and sector research, incorporating ESG factors as a driver of credit worthiness into the analysis, with a prime responsibility to support the new asset and debt origination team(s) supporting LGAS medium to long term strategic asset allocation objectives.
  • Assisting in devising and scrutinizing existing rating frameworks in sectors which LGR considers strategic. This will include but not be limited to global real estate (residential and commercial), digital infrastructure, and clean energy sectors.
  • Developing and maintaining expertise in Structured Finance rating methodologies (e.g. CMBS, CLO, ABS). Maintain rating models, incl. stochastic models, necessary for rating Structured Finance transactions.
  • Interacting with senior management and others across a variety of activities including analysis, due diligence and relationship management.
  • Producing analysis of rated peers and produce rating criteria and credit-specific contents to present to various internal stakeholders and work in close collaboration with cross divisional teams in LGC's investment and structuring asset origination, LGR Credit Strategy, Risk and LGIM internal rating teams(s).
  • Treating Customers Fairly (TCF): Ensure all decisions made and activity undertaken in fulfilment of this role consider the fair treatment of our customers.

What we're looking for
  • Degree with material numerical element or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income and Credit, with experience/good working knowledge of alternative asset classes including but not limited to property and infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of stochastic models used in rating Structured Finance transaction.
  • Previous experience in credit analysis (and criteria development) with focus on Structured Finance (e.g. CMBS, CLO, ABS). Experience in Project Finance (e.g. renewable energy focus) would also be valuable.
  • Confident communicator (written & verbal) with strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude.
  • A high level of fluency with Excel and Powerpoint is essential to complement core fundamentals credit research skills.
